Not only a writer of prose, Margaret Macpherson is also a poet, with a poet's soul. She has hundreds of serious poems and is in the process of collecting them into a form where they can be published. Margaret is a member of Edmonton's Stroll of Poets and also an infrequent reader in Edmonton's premier performance poetry venue, The Backroom Vodka Bar. While Macpherson has yet to hold a glass of vodka to her tender poet lips, she has quaffed a couple of beers and sipped the occasional glass of vino tinto before embarking on live performances of original poetry backed-up by the unbelievably talented improv jazz band The Raving Poets. Margaret has had a few of her poems published in small magazines.

In a less introspective vein, she is also considered one of E-towns finest composers of doggerel verse and she has performed countless rhyming couplets for individual's birthdays, wedding, official park openings and school concerts. Got a friend? Don't know what to get them for their birthday/anniversary/graduation?? Call on Macpherson - the well-versed woman - to do an original composition that you can present as a truly unique gift. There's a fee but an original poem is a keeper and you can even claim to have written it yourself! This idea is only an e-mail away. (margaret@margaretmacpherson.com)
